Suddenly things go out of control and guests scamper around to save themselves from the havoc created by malfunctioning of the SFX.

The fact is that the museum exhibits come to life during nights and in the process of following their rehearsed act, everyone runs amok. The reason being the gradual corrosion of the magic tablet. It comes to light that if this tablet of Ahkmenrah corrodes completely, then the museum exhibits would never come to life at nights, like it is been happening till now.

Over the last few years the fest has earned immense popularity among youngsters, thus becoming an unmatched pan-India college festival. To represent the energetic vibe and effervescent spirit of the fest, Bollywood actor and heartthrob Varun Dhawan has been signed on for his strong youth connect. The young actor is confirmed as the headlining act for the festival this year, and will also be seen making an appearance on the official launch promo. TheMicrosoft VFest 2015 finale is scheduled to take place on the 13th & 14th February, 2015 in the country’s party capital - Goa. All Zonal winners will qualify to compete at the VFest grand finale to be held in Goa. Bollywood actors, Sonakshi Sinha, Irrfan Khan and Arjun Kapoor are among confirmed names who are all set to perform at the zonals.

The finale, a two day extravaganza will be held in Baga grounds in North Goa. All India zonal winners will come together to compete for the much coveted VFest trophy. With over 30 events ranging from sports, art, literature to music, dance, theatre, fashion & more, the finale will be packed with competitions, workshops, seminars, student activities & engagements and performances by renowned artists.

The producer has had an exceptional year with back to back hits; 2 States, Highway, Heropanti and Kick.

Sajid also made his directorial debut with KICK and the film earned over Rs 200 crore at the box office, setting a new record.

Music of the bilingual Film “KABULI PATHAN” which is being made in Hindi & Pashto was released by renowned Bollywood Media photographer, Ramakant Munde.

The music launch took place on on 19th Dec 2014 at Zip Studious in Mumbai. VENUS is releasing the film’s music which is being co-produced by ‘ASHEYANA FILM PRODUCTIONS’ (for KABUL in Pashto). It is produced by Marshal Ibrahimi, and ‘DOSTI FILM ENTERTAINMENT’ (for INDIA in Hindi) Produced by Ajit S Katheria.

Film has Music by Ivan, Khalid Kayhan and Waqar Shafi, the well known Music directors from London and Kabul.

PK - Hindi movie review

Its OMG! Oh My God revisited. PK is a satire on “God and godmen” with an unique narration, superb performances from the pivotal characters, yet is a lengthy film which stretches on the same issue of having called a ‘Wrong Number’ while seeking the almighty.

The Managers of God have been again exposed in this film where an alien (resembling human race) comes to earth on his mission to survey the life and times of the inhabitants of this planet.

PK is not a futuristic or a sci-fi film, it deals about the ordeals of the alien man who is clean hearted, doesn’t tell lies, doesn’t hurt anybody, has the ability to grasp the language within few hours of just holding hands of a human. Like the data being transferred from one hard disk to another. This person has the ability to adapt easily to the new surroundings.

First Films for Panorama 2015 at Berlinale Film Fest

Panorama 2015: Probing the Past to Shape the Future

 

The eleven fictional and eight documentary films selected at this early date already provide a foretaste of the contents and global issues of the forthcoming 36^th Panorama programme.

 

East Asia will again make a strong showing in 2015. Already confirmed are significant works by renowned directors from Taiwan and South Korea. They could be labelled “modern history” or even “national traumas”. With Paradise in Service, director Doze Niu Chen-Zer from Taiwan presents a difficult chapter of East Asian history that has hardly ever been dealt with before: the establishment of brothels to keep up the morale of armed forces in the battle “against Mao”. And with JK Youn’s epic Ode to My Father, South Korea, half of a still divided country, investigates the repercussions of the Korean War and their impact on today.

 

The USA’s presence will also be felt: After Henry Fool and Fay Grim (Panorama 2007), cult filmmaker Hal Hartley, an iconic figure from the golden days of 1980s US-independent film, has concluded his trilogy with a masterpiece: Ned Rifle. And Justin Kelly provides an unusual directorial debut with I Am Michael, which was co-produced by Gus Van Sant. In it James Franco portrays a gay activist during the so emancipating 1980s, who then tries to turn straight in the 1990s. From the same decade, but set in the 1980s is an example of a filmmaker’s extraordinary perseverance, even though his work was edited beyond recognition by its investors: seventeen years after the premiere of the film 54, about the legendary New York nightclub, Studio 54, director Mark Christopher is presenting his original cut 54 – The Director’s Cut to the public.

 

Winners of the Panorama Audience Award 2009 were The Yes Men, those satirists, anarchists and pranksters in pursuit of unscrupulous profit mongering. In 2015 they will be back in Berlin for the third time with The Yes Men Are Revolting. They now aim their barbs at the Copenhagen Climate Conference and create havoc for the oil giant Shell.

 

Raoul Peck will present his latest work in the Panorama: the Haitian-French-Norwegian co-production Murder in Pacot (screenplay: Pascal Bonitzer). A character piece set outdoors against the catastrophe of the earthquake in Port-au-Prince looks with bitter rage at class distinctions in Haitian society.

 

One film from Latin America has already been confirmed, a co-production from Uruguay, Chile and Nicaragua: Aldo Garay’s The New Man. Here, too, recent history is explored: in the heat of the battle that Tupamaros and Sandinistas are fighting against the military dictatorships in their respective countries, Roberto, a young boy from Nicaragua, suddenly finds himself with foster parents in Uruguay. When he then decides to change his gender, he is also confronted with the limits of tolerance in leftist society.

 

Child abuse is the subject in several works, including the aforementioned The New Man, and films from Austria (The Last Summer of the Rich by Peter Kern), Switzerland (Dora or the Sexual Neuroses of Our Parents by Stina Werenfels), Canada (Chorus by Francois Delisle) and the Czech Republic (Daniel’s World by Veronika Liskova). Evidently the time is ripe to broach this difficult topic again and in so doing take even greater risks.

 

The Norwegian fictional film Out of Nature by Ole Giæver and Marte Vold is a zeitgeisty parable about a man, and his search for identity and joy in life. The young father needs a break from parental bliss: he retreats to the mountains to rethink what he wants from life.

 

In the Swedish contribution Dyke Hard by Bitte Anderson, all the stops have been pulled on what makes indie cinema so entertaining. A zany, quasi musical of post-punk-lesbo-rock-‘n’-roll calibre: this is underground fun at its purest.

B-Movie – Lust & Sound in West-Berlin by Jörg A. Hoppe, Klaus Maeck and Heiko Lange also embraces this rediscovered pleasure in the 1980s: a cornucopia of unbridled creativity spurts from this period in Berlin, which is revealed here to have been a highpoint. Alongside almost forgotten gems are tracks by Gudrun Gut, Blixa Bargeld and Nick Cave, among others.

 

Scandal at the Zoo Palast: R.W. Fassbinder’s conquest of the Berlinale began with Love Is Colder than Death in the 1969 Competition. In Fassbinder – To Love without Demands, Danish filmmaker Christian Braad Thomsen opens his archive and generously gives us a contemplative afternoon in a hotel room in Cannes with this unendingly inspiring filmmaker.

 

Kenya is among those African countries where, under the influence of evangelical organisations from the United States, hatred has been ignited against homosexuals. In Stories of Our Lives, Jim Chuchu lets a whole range of brave people talk. Banned in its country of origin, the film also presents pre-Christian rites that respect self-determination much more than society today.

 

In his 162-minute 3D documentary Iraqi Odyssey, Iraqi-Swiss filmmaker Samir masterly depicts the latest, highly complex history of Iraq as revealed by events in a family.

 

Last not least, news of a celebration! On February 13, 2014, the Teddy Awards will be presented for the second time at the Komische Oper Berlin. The Special Teddy 2015 will go to Udo Kier. Almost no other actor has crossed, fused, redrawn and extended the many boundaries of cinematic art with such ease.

Liv Ullmann recieves Nordic Honorary Dragon Award at Göteborg Film Festival

 

The legendary actress and director Liv Ullmann will be presented with the 2015 Nordic Honorary Dragon Award and will be visiting Göteborg for this coming festival. In addition, Norway is the Nordic country in focus this year, which will celebrated in a number of ways.

Norwegian film has manifested its strong position in Göteborg in recent years with a long list of solid films. Norwegian films have also won the world’s largest film award, Dragon Award Best Nordic Film, three years in a row. 2014 has been a particularly interesting year for Norwegian film, with new films from several of Norway’s foremost directors, such as Liv Ullmann, Hans Petter Moland and Bent Hamer. What’s more, Norwegian film has been immensely successful with audiences. The three most-seen films in Norway are currently domestic productions, of which Burning has been the biggest success with audiences.

With Norway as the Nordic country in focus at the 2015 festival, visitors can see films by directors previously mentioned in the program as well as a retrospective of Norwegian classics. Among other events, visitors will have the chance to see the award-winning Norwegian indie pop band Team Me live on stage. The Norwegian theme during this event is supported by cooperation with the Norwegian Seafood Council.

“The Norwegian focus will form a broad panorama of the Nordic film country that has perhaps taken the greatest step forward in recent years, both with regards to artistry and reaching audiences. Festivalgoers will be able to acquaint themselves with everything from weight-conscious researchers and blind authors to murderous snow-plowers and car-crazy speedfreaks. I’ll even wager that there will be more powerful Norwegian films to come,” says Jonas Holmberg, artistic director at Göteborg Film Festival.

Liv Ullmann will visit Göteborg to receive the distinction of the Nordic Honorary Dragon Award.
“Liv Ullmann is one of the most prominent people in Norwegian film history, both as an actor and a director. Her acuity and sensitivity have left profound impressions on film-lovers across the world. In Miss Julie, she approaches Strindberg with precisely the intelligence and elegance that make her a perfect recipient of the Nordic Honorary Dragon Award", Jonas Holmberg continues.

The Nordic Honorary Dragon Award is the film festival’s honorary award which goes to an inspiring Nordic filmmaker whose works deserves particular attention. It was awarded for the first time at the 2014 festival.

Rajkumar Hirani to holiday after PK's Release

Rajkumar Hirani is going to take a break after PK and go for a trip discovering India.

The ace director is planning to take a take a holiday with his family post the release of his upcoming film P.K.

He hasn't decided the destination to begin with yet and has been discussing with his family.

He wants to tour the entire country and meet new people.

The director is excited and looking forward to travel across the country as a whole, he wants to discover the country and see what more it has to offer.

Rajkumar Hirani was extremely busy editing PK and gifted himself the final print of the film on his birthday. He has not taken a break in a very long time.

PK is set for release this week.

Spiritual leader of Dera Sacha Sauda to spread message of God amongst youngsters through a film

 

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, head of the Indian social-spiritual welfare organization Dera Sacha Sauda has his way of connecting with youth. After performing at more than a hundred rock shows, he will be seen playing the lead role in a movie titled MSG: Messenger of God.

Guruji as he is fondly called is a spiritual leader, social reformer, and speaker. The film will talk about spirituality in an entertaining way and will have a strong social message.

Says a Source, “The film deals with issues related to youth like drug abuse, alcoholism etc. Guruji strongly condemns these two vices and has been working towards eradicating such menace. The aim of the film is to guide the youngsters on the right path and spread the message of spiritual living for empowerment of the country.”.

“These days, people are disillusioned by Godmen but Guruji always maintains that spiritual leaders like him are not God but the Messengers of God. He has a huge connect with people across the world especially with youngsters since he has been performing at Rock concerts and has been very active on social media platforms like twitter where the masses follow him.”. The film is directed by Jeetu Arora who has directed several television serials including Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

Jai Jawaan Jai Kisaan arriving on 23rd January, 2015

The release date of movie Jai Jawaan Jai Kisaan Which pays a tribute to the glorious life of Indian Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri has been set. 

It will now release in the week of Republic Day on 23^rdJanuary, 2015.  

This movie which stars Om Puri, Rati Agnihorti, Prem Chopra, Akhilesh Jain, Jatin Khurana and Rishi Butani is complete.

As usual the event will have its main focus on the unveiling of new faces in the international film scene, with a complete and widespread competition program that will be giving out 10 awards in total.


New Films Festival is currently accepting feature films, fiction and non-fiction, from directors who are on their first or second production, regardless of age.
