Zee TV unveils its vision for an extraordinary tomorrow

‘Aaj Likhenge Kal’

Ignites a spark amongst the great Indian middle class to take charge of their destinies and curate an extraordinary future

Mumbai, October 2017:  Launched in 1992 against the backdrop of post-liberalization with its socio-economic and cultural upheaval, Zee TV brought a new meaning to entertainment in India. It revolutionized the television space with content that mirrored the common man’s life and dreams. Its home-grown non-fiction formats gave a platform to his aspirations.

Twenty-five years later, the pioneer of satellite television still stands tall as a leading player and continues to celebrate the hopes and ambitions of the great Indian middle class. Now, as the channel embarks on the next leg of its journey, Zee TV unveils its new ideology, encapsulated in a powerful line – Aaj Likhenge Kal.

Through its inspiring characters and stories, the channel endeavours to provide the spark that encourages its viewers to draw from their own inner strength and take charge of their destinies. This fresh reiteration of its brand purpose urges the audiences to curate their own extraordinary future.

This new brand identity will be revealed to Zee TV’s global audiences during the telecast of ‘Dabur Red Ayurvedic Gel Presents Zee Rishtey Awards co-powered by Clinic Plus and Himalaya Body Lotion Special Partners Nerolac Paints and Finolex Cables’ to be aired on the channel on Sunday, 15th October 2017 starting 7 PM. ‘Doli Armaano Ki’ celebrates 260 episodes

Cast and Crew of DOLI ARMAANO KI celebrate their success
Doli is about a girl Urmi (Neha Marda), who dreams of getting married in ideal Hindustani marriage rituals and ceremonies, and she doesn’t dream anything big, but yearns for an ideal husband, lead a happy, peaceful and a loving married family.
Could you describe the psyche of Samrat, the antagonist in the serial.
Neha’s husband in Doli Armaano Ki is Samrat (Mohit Malik), who is virtually like that of a dog (kutta in the metaphorical sense). ‘The Dog in the Manger’ is the right analogy to describe this wicked husband. Samrat is not the kind of a person any woman would want to have as her husband. (Personally I feel dogs are more honest and faithful than humans.
Is he actually so bad?
He is a shameless guy, who cheats on his wife, brutally beating her, abuses her. But the day Neha comes to know that he is cheating on her, she decides to take things right on.
Does the theme have any parallels from your personal life?
Yes the story is somewhat reminiscent of my personal experiences as I too come from a small town, Jhansi and have graduated from Allahabad.
Even I had high dreams like that of Neha, of a nice marriage and lead a goody goody married life. Unfortunately, there was something else in my destiny, and the marriage did not work out.
Why does a girl always have to go through adjustments after a marriage? Doesn’t she also have a right to be happy?
